Project Title: Music Box
Length: app. 4 min. 25 sec.
Format: Beta cam SP.
Technique: Experimental, narrative animation. Combining of real-life photographs and 3D computer animation.
Language: No dialogue.
Synopses: A black comedy of family relationships of power, love and
hate.
How a family lives within a person, and how the memories effects the person
still in the presents.
Everybody has his/her own secret music box which they listen to again and again.
The production philosophy of MUSIC BOX

Adult 'she'- She is the one who listens to the music box again and again, and it is her own memories of family which happens in the box.
In the Music Box (3D computer animation);
King- The father. The strong and powerful one. His eyes are coins and his collar is made of bills. He seats in front of a money mountain and controls it. No one can have money without his permission. He is a distant figure, and doesn't come down from his throne. He doesn't show much feelings, and has mistresses whom he enjoys 'the other life' with. He communicates with others through money. Because of that, he doesn't trust anybody, since he feels everybody just wants his money.
Queen- The mother. The weak and obsessed one. She hates the king as much as she loves him. She craves for the king's attention and money. She fights with him but always loses and cries, and wishes her son will revenge for her in the future. She has eyes of water tap, since she is suffering and crying most of the time. She is too busy with her own tragedy to care much for her children. She tells the children that she is staying in her marriage only for them, and she is sacrificing herself for their sake. By that she creates a slave chain within the family.
Prince- The eldest son and the favorite and hope of the queen. He tries hard to get the kings approval, but hardly get any. He can't get any money directly from the king, but only through the queen. He is trapped by the queen and always had to obey her. He is jealous with his younger sister who gets money and affection from the king, although the prince loves his sister. The sibling rivalry between them is too great to be good to each other.
Princess- The youngest and the main heroin. The king shows the most
affection to her, but because of that the queen and the prince are very
jealous with her, and appears to even hate her. Because the king gives her
money freely, the queen refuses to give her money as well as her affection.
The princess is envious of her brother who gets the queen's attention. She
wants to escape the box and want to be free. She comforts herself with her
imagined world whenever the reality is too harsh or the parents fight.
